The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
- + Knowledge Development (eLearning) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- + Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills (Day 1)
- + Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore (Day 2 & 3)

Get your PADI Open Water Diver Certification.
Be certified to dive with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 metres anywhere in the world.
Start your PADI eLearning as soon as you sign up and once complete it is time to get in the water.
DAY 1 – CONFINED WATER TRAINING (POOL OR CONFINED LOCATION WITH POOL LIKE CONDITIONS)
The confined training is where you learn basic scuba skills in a controlled environment. Once you are comfortable in this confined environment with all your scuba skills, then it is time to move into the open water – this is where the real scuba diving action begins!
DAY 2 & 3 – OPEN WATER SESSIONS
This is where your OZDIVE PADI instructor will take you into the open water and you will complete at least four open water dives. Everything that you learnt and experienced in the confined session will now be experienced in the open water. After successful completion of your open water training dives, you will become a PADI certified open water diver!
